Rehoming

Rat Tails rescue and rehoming is focused on finding rats new loving homes. It is very important to me that when these rats leave me it is to the best possible home.

Adopting Rats

Before adoping rats out to new homes I like to do a home check where possible and for new owners to fill in a short application form. This is just to ensure we are matching the right rats to the right home. You are most welcome to come round and meet the rats and have a cuddle and we are always happy to discuss whether rats are the right pets for you and your family and to discuss all aspects of their care. Once the adoption has been agreed there will be a small fee of £5 per rat. This fee goes back into our rescue and is used towards vets fees, food and bedding for our rescue rats.

Surrendering Rats

We are a small rescue but we will always try to help where possible. If we are unable to take in your rats due to lack of space, we will do our best to find a place with one of the other local rescues or to find a foster home. When surrendering your rats it is helpful if we could have the cage that they have been living in and any left over food or bedding you may have. Please do bear in mind that we are completely self-funded and rely on donations and fundraising to continue doing the work that we do.

Fostering Rats

If you think you may be interested in being a foster carer for Rat Tails Rescue please do get in touch. Having people who are able to foster for us is invaluable to us. We have limited space here and knowing we have people to call on for foster homes is a great thing for us to have in an emergency.
